Worlds Collide in CO results – UFC alum Alvin Robinson notches first round RNC
In a Colorado mixed martial arts co-promotion, local organizations Fight to Win and King of Champions to present "Worlds Collide"; a 14 fight bill with eight pro fights. Held in correlation with the first Colorado MMA Expo, the main event featured four fight UFC veteran Alvin Robinson (11-5) taking on 145 pound prospect Jesse Henley (6-2).
With just over 90 seconds on in-ring time, Robinson quickly showed off his grappling dominance over Henley. Working for an early takedown Robinson ended on top of Henley and seamlessly moved to mount. After some brief ground and pound, Robinson took Henley's back for the rear naked choke finish 1:38 seconds into the first round.
The lost snapped a two fight winning streak for Henley. Robinson has now won back to back fights in 2010, bringing his total since being but by the UFC to 2-1. Now fighting at featherweight, Robinson could find himself back with the Zuffa family after a couple more wins at 145 pounds. A spot on the WEC roster by the end of year is not out of reach for the Colorado based fighter.
