Dave “Pee Wee” Herman vs. Bryan Humes targeted for Ruckus MMA in Illinois
Two of the best heavyweights outside of the UFC and Strikeforce are expected to square off at Ruckus Entertainment's fourth MMA show set to take place in Addison, Illinois.
ULTMMA.com (www.ULTMMA.com) has learned from sources close to the situation of a proposed match-up between Dave "Pee Wee" Herman (20-2) and Bryan Humes (6-1) is in the works for Ruckus 4. The heavyweight clash would serve as the main event for a card scheduled for Wednesday November 24th.
Herman, who was recently embroiled in a legal dispute with Bellator Fighting Championship, last fought at Bellator 31 in Louisiana. After being shaken up early by Polish heavyweight Michal Kita, Herman showed off his improved grappling by submitting his opponent with a rare omoplata finish.
The 26 year old Herman is 4-1 in his last five fights, with the one loss coming via disqualification.
A heavy handed striker out of Las Vegas, Humes will look to bounce back from his career loss when he steps in the cage versus Herman. At Shark Fights 11 in May, Humes stood toe to toe with former UFC veteran Paul Buentello. Humes came out on the losing end of a three round slugfest was scored in favor of Buentello.
Through seven career fights Humes holds notable wins over Joel Traves and Lance Friedenstein. Ranked number 12 in the ULTMMA.com heavyweight prospect rankings Humes will provide a solid challenge for Herman, who boasts .910 winning percentage through 22 pro fights.
