Florida’s Bad Blood II Results Olympian and Flyweight Alexis Vila Victorious

Coral Gables, FL - Top ranked Flyweight Alexis Vila was in action at an event entitled Bad Blood II in Florida. Vila, a Olympic level athlete who captured the bronze in freestyle wrestling for his native Cuba in 1996, is one of the only top ten 125 pound fighters who competes exclusively stateside.

Vila fought a very game Cody Bell 8-6 into the second round before dropping the 23 year old with strikes just 54 seconds after the bell.

With the win Vila moves his pro record to 6-0. Despite his advanced age (38 years old) Vila earns high marks for his wrestling pedigree and stiff level of competition he has sought out.

Vila is a five star prospect who currently is ranked number seven in the Ultmma50; a pound for pound list of the top 50 unsigned prospects in MMA.

Also, in action was one time WEC featherweight Jonathan Brookins 10-2. Brookins showcased his ever improving game with a rear naked choke win over Miami's Luis Palomino.

Brookins lone loss in the Zuffa owned WEC came to Jose Aldo. A TKO loss in November 2008 to the Brazilian striker, which came in the third period, continues to become more impressive with each passing win for Aldo.
