Despite the controversial spilt decision victory for Mike Easton over Chase Beebe, Ultimate Warrior Challenge 7 was a night that featured exciting fights from a good mix of MMA prospects.

Arizona Combat Sports made the 2,000 mile trip to Virginia and walked away with two of the more notable wins of the night.

Prospect Watch: Jacob McClintock and Pat Runez

Stock Up: Jacob McClintock 6-0, fighting for the first time in nearly eight months, validated his high standing in the welterweight division of unsigned MMA prospects with his win over Beau Baker. McClintock showcased his untapped striking game against Baker. Known for his submission skills, the 21 year old Arizona native beat Baker to the punch for the duration of the one round affair.

A win over Baker in dominating fashion is McClintock's most impressive of his young career. Baker, a four star prospect in his own right, is now 7-3 with wins over Tom Speer and Mario Stapel. McClintock is currently ranked number 30 in the Ultmma50, ranking of the top unsigned local MMA prospects.

Stock Up: Pat Runez has staked his claim to a top ten ranking in the still developing American flyweight division. With his win over John Dodson, Runez captured the Ultimate Warrior Challenge 125 pound title and also held the Palace Fighting Championship's flyweight belt, prior to the promotion folding up shop.

Runez and Dodson needed the full 25 minutes to decide a winner with Runez having his hand raised by split decision.

Only a select few flyweights who fight on US soil possess the credentials to hang with Runez. Match-ups with Florida's Alexis Vila or New Jersey's Nick Cottone would both be legitimate threats to Runez's title.
