Geraldo Ferro upsets Felipe Olivieri and flyweight prospect Alexandre Passidomo picks up 11th win at Shooto Brazil

Shooto Brazil delivered another solid card filled with a few of the country's hottest prospects. For the promotion's fifth event of 2012 and 32nd overall a pair of lightweights with aspirations of landing a US contract took center stage. Team Nova Uniao standout Felipe Olivieri (11-4) faced off with undefeated Geraldo Ferro (5-0).

In a sizable upset Ferro battered Olivieri early in round one and did not let up off the gas pedal. Ferro punched out a fallen Olivieri at the 2:49 mark for the TKO win from punches.The victory was Ferro's second TKO win of his 14 month career.

The loss for Olivieri halted a modest two fight winning streak. Olivieri's last two defeats have both come via TKO.

The continued return of five star flyweight prospect Alexandre Pantoja Passidomo (11-2) highlighted the undercard. Passidomo was booked versus red hot Lincoln de Sa (9-2) in a fight that went the distance. In battle between two of Brazil's best unsigned 125 pound fighters it was Passidomo who earned the three round decision win.

After a year away from the sport Passidomo has charged back with two impressive wins in the span of seven months. Only 22 years old Passidomo has been a pro since 2007. An accomplished Muay Thai striker, Passidomo also trains with the heralded Nova Uniao team.

As a five star 125 pound prospect Passidomo is rated the number one flyweight prospect by ULTMMA.com. Passidomo checks in at number 19 in the ULTMMA50; a pound for pound top 50 prospect ranking.
