Night of oddities: Shonie Carter vs. Anthony Macias headlines Freestyle Cage Fighting in OK
Tulsa, OK - With over 90 pro MMA fights between them Anthon Macias took to the cage to take on "Mr. International" Shonie Carter in the main event of Freestyle Cage Fighting in Oklahoma.
Macias made his MMA debut back in 1994 at UFC 4, where he suffered a loss to Hall of Famer Dan Severn via rear naked choke. Prior to the match versus Carter Macias had not competed since 2005.
Carter made his MMA debut in February 1997 where he dropped a bout to Laverne Cox at Extreme Challenge's third event. Carter was 4-1 in his last five fights dating back to November 2008.
After three rounds it was Macias who had his hand raised downing Carter on the scorecards 29-28 x 2 and 30-27.
Veteran Thomas Jones landed a rare submission in just under 30 seconds in his win over Michael Suttles, Jr. Working from side control Jones locked in a shoulder choke on Suttles quickly after the fight hit the mat, with Suttles tapping out 29 seconds into the first period.
The 39 year old Johnson is now 18-11. Suttles on the other hand drops 4-28 in his pro MMA career. The 25 year old middleweight out of Minnesota turned pro in 2005 and is currently in the midst of five fight losing skid.
