Oklahoma XFL prospect watch: 125 lb Cody Fuller & 135 lb Paul Linham

Bixby, OK-- Xtreme Fighting League held their "Final Fury" event at the Spirit Bank Center in Bixby. The card featured fighters who had competed in the Maximum Fighting Championship as well as Strikeforce.

Prospect Watch: Paul Linham and Cody Fuller

Stock Up- Paul Linham 3-1 made it a short night for fellow Oklahoma product Dejuan Jackson 5-7. Linham rebounded from the first loss of his career to Nick Gibbons with a brief grappling showcase before securing a tight rear naked choke on Jackson less than 40 seconds into the fight.

The 23 year old Linham is part of a carousel of featherweight prospects coming out of Oklahoma all in their 20s. The list currently includes the likes of Thomas Longacre, Nick Gibbons, Zach George, Shane Waits and Josh Pulsifer. All three of Linham's wins have come by submission. With a tough loss to the 19 year old Gibbons already on his books, Linham has a bevy of potential opponents in his local fight scene to contend with in 2010.

Stock Up- Brewing below the surface of local promotions across the US is the early stages of a 125 pound flyweight division. In the Midwest former bantamweight Cody Fuller is continuing his successful transition down to the flyweight weight class.

Fuller 6-2 took control of his fight early on with the previously unbeaten Teddy Potts 3-1. The 21 year old from Oklahoma locked in a triangle choke in just over two minutes of the first round forcing Potts to tap out. Fuller closes out 2009 with a 2-1 record fro the year.

On the horizon for Fuller in 2010 may be a rematch of his instant five round title fight with Lewis McKenzie. McKenzie a 24 year old three star flyweight prospect in his own right from Oklahoma earned a close unanimous decision win over Fuller in June at an Xtreme Fighting League in Tulsa.
