Lubbock,TX--In front of a sold out crowd of over 5,000 Texas MMA fans, Shark Fights put together an eight fight card that saw seven of the bouts end inside the first round. The main event was a 170 pound clash for the Shark Fights interim welterweight championship. Josh Neer (27-9-1) captured the belt with a first round rear naked choke submission of lone star native Anselmo Martinez (7-2).

The submission victory was the 12th of Neer's seven year career and his second win in a row since being released by the UFC in October 2009. With the win a possible title unification fight between Neer and current title holder Anthony Waldburger (12-5) may be set up for later this year.

A 21 year old prospect from Temple, Waldburger previously fought Neer at an IFC show in March 2007. In their first fight Neer walked away with win early in the first round from a TKO due to strikes.
