Top prospect Roger Bowling & Jake O’Brien victorious at MMA Big Show

Florence, IN-Recent Strikeforce acquisition and five star welterweight prospect Roger Bowling kept his undefeated record intact with a second round victory over Jerrod Appenzeller.

Over the past several months the 27 year old Bowling (7-0) has battled a number injuries that have kept him on the sidelines. The fight versus Appenzeller was Bowling's first since July 2009. Appenzeller (1-1), a 23 year old from Iowa, was game from the opening bell and in defeat became the only man to push Bowling past the first round.

Bowling was able to floor Appenzeller a mere 14 seconds into the second period to earn his first win of 2010. A welterweight with middleweight power, Bowling is a five star prospect who will make for an excellent addition to Strikeforce's 170 pound roster.

Expect Bowling to make his Strikeforce debut at Challengers series event in the spring. Bowling is ranked number 14 in the ULTMMA50 due his marquee wins over Shamar Bailey and Seth Baczynski as well as his unorthodox striking game. Bowling is high on potential and is the type of prospect that has improved with each successive fight.
