Tulsa, OK-One of the most active states in MMA put together a hybrid card featuring both professional MMA and kickboxing bouts at XFL March Badness in Oklahoma. The return of ex Oklahoma State wrestler and UFC fighter Jake Rosholt shared the bill with two title fights on the night's marquee.

21 year old middleweight prospect Trey Houston (3-0) downed Brandon Gaines (5-11) for the second time in as many fights. The play by play was eerily similar to that of their first meeting at Strikeforce Challengers in September 2009. Houston again pulled off a fight ending submission two minutes into the second period, this time by armbar at the 2:07 mark, with the first meeting halted after an arm-triangle choke.

Houston has won all three of his pro fights via submission and is the new XFL middleweight champion.

The second title fight on the card featured two of the best Oklahoma produced welterweights as Mike Jackson (10-4) took on Levi Avera (13-7). The fight lasted a mere 90 seconds before Jackson had his hand raised. An early takedown from Avera resulted in a wild scramble in which Jackson was able to floor his opponent with a superman punch after the reset.

Transitions on the mat were key to Jackson's win as the 24 year old worked submission after submission on Avera until a busted armbar attempt led Jackson to reach for a kneebar. The kneebar submission victory was the second straight for Jackson following two consecutive losses.

Both of Jackson's most recent defeats came at the hands of current UFC competitors; Brian Foster and new signee Daniel Roberts.

One of the top wrestling prospects to enter the UFC Jake Rosholt (7-2) returned to the XFL cage for the first time since being released by MMA ‘s biggest organization. Rosholt took on Missouri's Rudy Lindsey (15-8) in a 195 pound catch-weight bout.

Rosholt wasted little time to show off is All American wrestling pedigree, taking the fight to the floor in the first 20 seconds. From the top position Rosholt worked some punches until Lindsey was forced to give up his back. The fight ending rear naked choke would come half a minute later at the 2:37 point of round number one.

With the submission Rosholt gets back in the win column and will look to book similar opponents in the coming months that can push him back into a national MMA promotion.
