Prospect watch: Nathan Coy and Tyson Nam

Stock up: Welterweight prospect Nathan Coy (8-2) needed less than 20 seconds to defend his Sportfight 170 pound title versus Travis Bush (4-2-1). Coy, a four start prospect showed off his improved striking sending Bush to the mat with a timely knee before ending the bout with multiple strikes on his fallen foe.

A wrestler out of Team Quest Coy is a tough match-up for any athlete on the Northwest MMA scene. Coy has one of the more impressive resumes of any fighter on the local MMA scene with key wins over current UFC fighters Mike Pierce and Rick Story standing alongside a close spilt decision loss to Paul Bradley.

The 31 year old former Oregon State wrestler is ready made for a call-up to any national promotion that could use the services of a hardnosed competitor like Coy.

Stock Up: A veteran of the Elite XC and Icon Sport promotions Hawaiian Tyson Nam (8-2) made the trek to Oregon in 2009 to join Team Quest. Nam took to the ring versus Colorado bantamweight Nick Honstein (5-3) at Sportfight.

Nam a striker continues to develop his grappling abilities at his new camp. The 26 year old Nam peppered Honstein with punches through most of round one while also mixing in the occasional takedown to rack up points. In the second frame Nam's final takedown lead to a ground a pound finish.

Nam has now won four straight dating back to June 2009. Now a four star bantamweight prospect Nam may only need one more big name win on his ledger to earn a spot in a Major League MMA organization.

Well.... It was not the knee to the head that made him fall it was a knee to the balls. Maybe next time he can not be such a dirty fighter and learn to truly win.

Bush was defeated by a faulty call not seen by the ref who got paid to stand there. Fovoring Coy was seen by a hard knee to the balls. REMATCH HIM BUSH!
