The next edition of Strikeforce's Challengers series appears to have a main event. Former University of Missouri All American wrestler Tyron Woodley (6-0) is expected to meet Team Quest's Nathan Coy (8-2) in a welterweight bout on the televised card of Strikeforce's Challengers event scheduled for Friday May 21st.

Multiple sources close to the event have informed ULTMMA.com (www.ultmma.com) of the likely match-up.

Woodley, an All American wrestler in 2003 and 2005 for the Missouri Tigers, lasted competed in November 2009 where he submitted Rudy Bears (10-4) at Strikeforce Challengers V. All six of Woodley's professional victories have come via submission.

Strikeforce Challengers VIII takes place on May 21st at the Rose Garden arena in Portland, Oregon and will air live on Showtime.

Coy, former Oregon State wrestler, has one of the more impressive resumes of any fighter on the local MMA scene with key wins over current UFC fighters Mike Pierce and Rick Story standing alongside a close spilt decision loss to Paul Bradley.

The 31 year old out of Team Quest last saw cage action in March where he headlined a local Sportfight card versus Travis Bush (4-2-1). Coy put on his most impressive striking performance to date, knocking out Bush a mere 16 seconds into the opening round.

Balancing his training camps between San Jose's famed American Kickboxing Academy and St. Charles BJJ in Missouri, Woodley has earned in the distinction as one of the top prospects in all of MMA. Fighting through the hype, Woodley was the inaugural recipient of the ULTMMA prospect of the year award for 2009.
